This archive is built on dated documents. Every statement on these pages is tied to a catalogued source, and every source is linked to the capture through which it can be read. This page sets out how that record is kept.
Evidence grades
- A+ — a constitutional or governance document, a direct primary letter, or an official contemporaneous programme stating a precise role.
- A — a historical public CAIRN page, or another strong contemporaneous primary source.
- B — a corroborating letter, a later retrospective page, or a partner page.
How each statement is verified
Every page is split into its individual factual statements, and each statement is matched to one or more archive identifiers. The original document is then opened and read in full, in the Internet Archive where the live page has closed, and the passage that carries the statement is recorded. The check is then repeated in the opposite direction, from the finished page back to the primary source, and the mapping between statement and document is reviewed independently.
The record below lists the principal statements of this archive and the document in which each is written.
| ID | Date | Source | Statement | Where it is written | Grade |

Preservation
For every historical address the Internet Archive is queried, an early capture and a later one are recorded, and both the original address and the capture are stored. The original pages are not replaced with rewritten copies: this site is an index and commentary layer pointing to the documents themselves. The Thesis Supervision Board listing, to take one case, is preserved in eight captures spanning December 2007 to March 2021.
Privacy and redaction
Letters are published in redacted form. Date, sender, recipient name, subject and the relevant historical passages are preserved; personal contact details, financial and health information and private matters unrelated to the historical record are removed. Each published item carries a note to that effect.
