FOR INTEGRATED RESEARCH & TRAINING
IN HIMALAYAN TRADITIONAL HEALING TECHNIQUES,
COUNSELLING AND NEUROSCIENCES

Have a look at our new program for "2001-02".

The CAIRN Institute has been founded in 1997 as a Network
linking various academic research and educational foundations in
different European countries with selected social/health community services and training institutions (NGOs) in Nepal, India and the
Himalayan region (Tibet/TAR China). The aims of the ISI-CNV
(Nice) and CAIRN (Center for advanced Intervention Research in Nepal) Institute partnership are to organize cross-cultural exchanges for psychotherapy, health anthropology and IT-/Database systems
Research & Development (R&D) through internet publication, seminars,  operational field-studies, cultural immersion, teaching and online community social/health services training, with a special focus upon
research in Drug Abuse detoxification and counselling using the Himalayan and Tibetan philosophy, psychology and psychotherapy
as well as  other local developmental resources for a more
culturally appropriate educational approach.

These training modules and field-research options are based
upon the expertise and operational resources gathered in Nepal by
the St- Xavier's Social Services (SXSS), St- Xavier's Campus (SXC) and other selected Traditional Health Centers, Tibetan Medicine Clinic and other specialized Community Social/Health Centers situated
around the stategic site of Bouddhanath Stupa, in Kathmandu Valley (Nepal), as well as based on the training and practices
resources gathered at the ISI-CNV, in Nice (S-of-France).

This work wants to emphasize the comparitive study (experiential)
between the early Celtic (Western) healing heritage and the Himalayan
Tibetan philosophical, psychological and healing theories or practices. Our network seeks to integrate modern Western psychotherapeutic and system organizational approachs with the hermeneutics of the common roots of healing traditions in both East and West, in such a way as that can be easily understood by professional western people.

Finally the partnership of ISI-CNV (Nice) and CAIRN Institute (Nepal)
is jointly responsible for the organisation of cultural immersion tours, field-studies, meetings, courses and conferences concerning the points above, including the maintenance of a Online training system. You will find the contact addresses for ISI-CNV (european countries) and
CAIRN (Keltic Trilogy Nepal) listed below.
